I’ve been in a long-distance relationship going on three years. One of the secrets to our success? We keep a standing streaming date. From long-forgotten Denzel Washington movies to throwback episodes of Star Trek, my boyfriend and I press play and cozy up (albeit across the country from each other) for a simultaneous viewing session almost nightly. Needless to say, all that streaming can work a number on my computer’s battery life—and with my 7-year-old MacBook Air on its very last legs, I figured there was no better time than the present to give the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x laptop (from $950) a try, not least of all because it’s hailed for its extensive battery life and practically cinematic viewing experience.
The laptop is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processing chip, which takes the credit for the computer’s epic battery and super fast processing. So when the brand invited me for a streaming staycation at New York City’s famed Hotel Chelsea to experience the PC notebook firsthand, I immediately packed my bags. The only catch? There were no chargers allowed. Did the Lenovo laptop live up to the hype—and survive the movie night? Read on for my full review.
