Denzel Washington has been gracing the big (and small) screen for over four decades. In fact, the Hollywood veteran revealed in a 2013 interview with The Telegraph that he considered retiring from acting, but working with actress Viola Davis (who starred alongside him in the Broadway production and the movie adaptation of the classic play, Fences) reignited his love for the craft. 

“The whole process is where I am in my life right now. It reawakened me,” Washington told the outlet. “I felt alive again and I said I want to apply that same work ethic to every job in terms of preparation, investigation, everything. No matter how big a movie is, I never want it to be just another gig. I don’t want that. Don’t want to know.’’
